What an incredible Friday playing hookie at Hawk’s Shadow Winery in the Texas Hill Country at the Savor the Day Women’s Retreat! Our women’s retreat was a beautiful reminder of just how healing it is to come together, to move, breathe, laugh, and savor life’s simple joys. Laura Wall and I are filled with deep gratitude for every woman who joined us, showing up with open hearts and radiant spirits. The connection that unfolded among us was pure magic.

In a world that often feels heavy with challenges swirling around us, both in our own lives and in the background noise of the world it’s easy to forget the importance of pleasure. Not the fleeting kind, but the grounded, soul-nourishing kind that reminds us we are alive and deeply connected to all that is good.
Throughout the retreat, we practiced slowing down to notice the beauty that surrounds us. We felt the sun on our faces and the breeze on our skin. We tasted the sweetness of life through rich chocolates, local wine, and nourishing food. We moved our bodies with intention and filled our lungs with breath that reminded us we are grateful for this moment.
Pleasure is not indulgence; it’s medicine. It restores balance when life feels overwhelming. It invites us to soften, to receive, and to remember the abundance that’s always available.

So lets slow and and continue to seek joy in the smallest moments like watching the sunrise with a warm cup of tea, taking a deep breath of fresh air before starting the day or savoring the taste of something delicious without rushing. There are so many pleasures in life!
