Long before social media, group texts, and busy schedules pulled us in a hundred different directions, women gathered around fires, kitchen tables, in fields, places of worship, and community circles. We came together to share stories, celebrate milestones, grieve losses, pass down wisdom, and support one another through life’s challenges. We were never meant to do life alone.
Modern research confirms what our ancestors instinctively knew. Studies have shown that meaningful social connections positively impact our mental, emotional, and physical well-being. Women who experience strong supportive relationships with other women report lower levels of stress, anxiety, and depression. They often experience improved immune function, greater resilience during difficult times, and even increased longevity. Connection heals.
When women gather in supportive environments, something beautiful unfolds. We realize we are not the only ones carrying uncertainty, heartbreak, dreams, fears, or hopes. We recognize ourselves in one another’s stories. We feel seen. We feel understood. We feel less alone.
Yet somewhere along the way, many of us were taught that other women are our competition. Competition for success, recognition, beauty, attention and worthiness. But I have discovered something very different. When women choose collaboration over comparison, magic happens. When one woman shares her truth, it gives another permission to do the same. When one woman succeeds, it becomes evidence of what is possible for all of us.
When one woman is celebrated, we all rise. There is enough room for every woman to shine.
My greatest experiences have not come from competing with other women, but from sitting beside them, listening, encouraging, supporting, celebrating, witnessing and loving. These moments remind me that we belong to one another.
This is exactly why I have been holding connective women’s retreats for the past 15 years and why I created the Coming Home to Yourself Retreat this September .
It is an opportunity to step out of the noise of daily life and into a circle of women who are committed to uplifting one another. It is a space where masks can come off, vulnerability is welcomed and laughter is abundant. It is an opportunity for every woman to reconnect with her body, her wisdom, her joy, and her authentic self.
I would be honored to welcome you into this circle.
With love,
